The Alisal

The Alisal Ranch, located in Solvang, California, is a wonderful place for any event. Established in the days of Ranchos and Missions, the Alisal offers a wonderful vacation. With activities spanning from swimming to horseback riding to golf, the Alisal provides a serene, secluded get away.

Accommodations are small 1 bedroom 1 bathroom bungalows. However, with the many activities that the Alisal has to offer you will find yourself spending very little time in your room.

One of the main attractions that the Alisal has to offer is its wonderful horseback riding. All of the horses that are offered are incredibly well trained and are chosen based on the ability of the rider. Rides are offered every morning and afternoon and the rider is offered three types of rides based on the experience of the rider and the wrangler’s recommendation. Children are allowed to begin riding at the age of 7 and younger kids are allowed to ride on a horse towed by an adult. Lessons on horseback riding are offered for those with little experience.

Another one of the main attractions at the Alisal is the golf. Alisal offers two courses, The River Course and The Ranch Course. The two courses are accompanied by some incredible scenery that allows the golfer to enjoy the experience even if he/she shoots 103. The Courses cater to all levels of golfers. Carts are available for those who prefer a ride; however, walking is always an option.

Some of the additional activities offered at the Alisal are the lake, the game room, the arts and crafts room, the petting zoo, and the pool. The lake offers fishing, volleyball, and paddle boating, while the petting zoo allows the children and adults an opportunity to see some of the animals up close. The petting zoo has all sorts of animals from miniature donkeys, to goats, to potbelly pigs. The arts and crafts room is open every day and allows children and adults a variety of craft choices.

The food at the Alisal is exquisite! The main dining hall is open for breakfast and dinner, while a small poolside cafĂ© is available for lunch. On Tuesdays and Thursdays a breakfast ride is offered where you can venture up to the Adobe for Alisal’s famous pancakes. The methods of transportation for reaching the Adobe are horseback riding or riding in a hay wagon.

In Conclusion, the Alisal is a wonderful place to get away whether it be for a family reunion, a group outing, or just a plain old vacation. Visit the Alisal today!

Wild Rivers

Wild Rivers, located in Irvine, California, is one of the premiere water-parks in the state. Wild Rivers offers a wide variety of rides and is open to the public from 10 AM to 8 PM every day during the summer. Wild Rivers is most known for its 11 exciting slides that are open to anyone weighing less than 300 pounds and taller than 54 inches. From Bazooka Bowls to The Abyss, Wild Rivers incorporates many different themes into their slides.

In the ride Bazooka Bowls, you are shot out of a tube into a bowl at a speed that feels like 30 MPH. Your momentum from the tube propels you around the bowl; however, the manner in which you enter the water depends strictly on your bodyweight. You can slow yourself down and enter feet first or you can allow the bowl to decide your fate and possibly enter the water headfirst.

The Abyss, another thrilling slide, gives one the choice of riding in a single inner tube or riding in a double inner tube. The Abyss is one of the longer rides at Wild Rivers lasting for 30 seconds and is pitch black, except for the occasional tiny overhead lights. When I say lights I actually mean small bulbs placed inside of the enclosed ride. The Abyss also includes rapids in certain areas. Some of the other rides at Wild Rivers are Patriot, Congo River Rapids, Chaos, Wipeout, Cobras, Bombay Blasters, Sweitzer Falls, and Nairobi Express.

One of the best rides at Wild Rivers is the Boogie Boarding Pool also known as Hurricane Harbor. The extra six dollars that it costs to enter the pool is totally worth it. The only part of Wild Rivers that I don’t enjoy is the food and the service. However, the experience is well worth the price of admission. In a competition between water parks like Soak city and Raging Waters, Wild Rivers would easily win. In conclusion, I would give Wild Rivers 8 out of 10 stars. Don’t let your summer end without making a trip to Wild Rivers.

Kicked in the Nuts

There are three different kinds of funny. Stupid funny, mean funny, and gut-wrenching funny. If you’re like me, you would like gut-wrenching funny. Some examples of gut-wrenching funny videos are Kicked in the Nuts, Kicked in the Nuts, and don’t forget Kicked in the Nuts. Kicked in the Nuts is a website that shows a man with an orange aphro going to different places and randomly kicking people in the nuts. For example, he might see somebody bring their surfboard up on the beach. He would then run towards them, and kick them in the nuts. It is funny to observe them fall over and to see the look on their face when he tells them that they are on television.

Univeral's Island of Adventure

Everybody enjoys some roller-coasters, some good food, and some great shows. Well welcome to Universal Studio’s Island of Adventure in Orlando, Florida. The Island has the most intense rides of the three Universal parks in Orlando. However, you should bring your earplugs because you may hurt your ears with all your screaming.

The park includes many rides such as Hulk, Dr. Doom’s Freefall, Dueling Dragons, and Jurassic Park. Those are just 4 of all the great rides there. Hulk is a high speed roller-coaster sending you speeding down a straight down drop with more than 6 flips. The track is Purple and Green, (The color of the Hulk himself) and winds over water and land. Just try not to fail your mission to bring the Hulk to human form.

You want to know a fun roller-coaster. Dueling Dragons is top on the list. You choose either the fire dragon, or the ice dragon, load on the ride and zip through more than 2,000 feet of track. As you travel on your dragon you’ll find that the other dragon is doing the same thing you’re doing. You’ll experience parts of the roller-coaster where it looks like you’re going to collide with the other dragon. And hopefully your dragon will win the duel.

Overall, Universal is a great place to go on vacation if you’re seeking fun.
